Happy Birthday, Buck!
Today, June 13th, is my father-in-law’s 87th birthday.
We went to the Old Spaghetti Factory in Monrovia (CA) for a family dinner on Saturday evening and had an assembly of 25 people - family came in from Arizona, Santa Barbara, Upland, etc. to celebrate with him. Spouse, children, grandchildren, and in-laws, all had a wonderful time sharing time, memories, dinner and a HUGE cake together.
Then today (Sunday, his actual birthday), there were 21 of us for brunch at Applebee’s in West Covina (CA). Some from Saturday couldn’t make it, and others who missed Saturday, drove down from Ventura to have brunch with us. Blessed both meals with attentive, gracious waitresses - and we tipped accordingly!
Robert ‘Buck” Ragan - born 1923, served in two wars, was a fighter pilot and a fisherman - his biggest love after the grandchildren, his sometime-adopted dog (actually, my mini-Yorkie, Sammy, but when the dog visits grandpa, it’s his dog for the day) - is fishing. Can’t go often enough, and watches it on TV whenever he can.
